River City Junction
River City Junction is a band whose roots tap deep into the history from which modern music flows. Playing a mixture of originals & covers, they span the styles of Blues, Jazz, Motown, Funk & Classic Rock. They bring to music their own unique perspective & approach, making both original & cover tunes blend seamlessly with one another, providing their audience with an inspiring listening experience. They are currently in the process of completing their long awaited debut CD entitled: "Convergence" & can be seen playing regularly in & around the Ottawa area & along the St. Lawrence Seaway from Montreal to Kingston.

Whether close to home or at some far-off (and often far-out) venue, Joe always delivers an energetic and entertaining mix of rootsy country-soul-folk-blues-rock that's sometimes funny, sometimes touching, sometimes rocking, always heartfelt, real, and true. David Blair
Classically trained in piano since the age of 3 David Blair joined his first band at the age of 17. He has performed all over North America, holds 3 honourable mentions for the Billboard songwriting awards, won CFox's Demo Listen Contest and has opened for Nickelback and Barstool Prophets. From his new album, Things Left Unsaid, he has a current radio single with "Hurts So Hard" which is starting to gain ground on stations across the nation and will be touring Canada and the USA during June and July of this year.

Cytopoetics presents Bill Brown's 1-2-3 Slam, Canada's only regularly running poetry slam series with the unique 1-2-3 format. Poets perform 1-minute, 2-minute and 3-minute poems in successive rounds, with the winner of the final round going home with Bill Brown. Who is Bill Brown, you ask? Come to the show to find out! BB123 Slam is hosted by Capital Slam co-founder Greg "Ritallin" Frankson and takes place on the second Thursday of every month (poet sign-up at 7:30 p.m. and showtime at 8 p.m. SHARP).

David Ward

"David Ward is an exceptional, eclectic singer/songwriter who defies easy characterization. Jazz, blues, folk, R&B - he employs them all and more in a constantly changing and ever compelling set."
Having spent the last year touring his highly acclaimed album, 'Unstruck Note,' with producer Adam Fulton (Paul McCartney, Terry Clark) and his band Loose Change, David is touring eastern Canada solo this summer and is set to record new material this fall.

Dave Norris and Local Ivan
After recording and releasing "The CDR EP" in November of 2007 on his Funny Mountain label, Dave continued playing shows in and out of the city more often, ending up at venues like the Blacksheep Inn in Wakefield, La Sala Rossa in Montreal, and various Ottawa locales including The Manx, Zaphods, and the Rainbow Room. In the meantime he was writing and recording material that would end up on his next EP "Exactly OFF," released as of December 2008. The recording, mixing and producing of which was mostly done by Dave in his Lisgar street apartment.
